Logistic Nomad recently had the opportunity to perform an interesting assignment at OOCL Netherlands. How did this collaboration go and what were the biggest challenges? Read along for a behind-the-scenes look at OOCL X Logistic Nomad!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>How did the collaboration come about?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Connections are everything.&#8221;, they say. In this case it is true. I ended up here through an old classmate from when we were together at the Shipping and Transport College. Her husband works as Operations Manager in OOCL&#8217;s logistics department. The logistics department happened to be looking for a temporary employee with experience in operational work. OOCL&#8217;s request came just at the right time, as I was just in the final stages of another assignment. There\u2019s nothing better than when projects seamlessly align. This allowed us to move quickly and get off to a fast start. After a productive conversation, things fell into place and my new challenge began.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What work did you do and what was the biggest challenge?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These were primarily operational tasks involving planning transports to and from the warehouse. Customer service for clients and recipients was also part of the role. Due to the busy holiday period, I was managing the entire account after just a few weeks, which came with its own set of challenges, including making the established processes successful during the startup phase. It\u2019s during the startup phase that you face a lot of uncertainties, unforeseen circumstances and external factors. Particularly, the scarcity of storage space and transport capacity were challenges encountered almost daily. These challenges were overcome through open communication, supportive management and good collaboration with external partners. In the end, it is a job that requires teamwork. Through good cooperation, mutual trust you get things done and win over customers who will return.
